Red Sand in my Shoes
Well, I am sad to say that next week will be my last here in glorious St. George. While I am certainly anxious and excited to embark on all of my new adventures (China!) I am going to miss it here so much! I have grown to love this place! St. George and Dixie State captured my heart and just won't let go. There is not just one element on why I love it here so much, in fact I'm not sure I can even pinpoint it exactly. Perhaps it's the incredible relationships I've built, the sweet memories, or the red sand in my shoes. I think actually, the main reason I have loved it here so much is good ol' Dixie State College! I can not even describe the love I have for this school! There is just a certain charm that is with this campus! Maybe it has to do with the fact that many of my family members have attended this school? That could be where I get the attachment from. Whatever reason, I love it here and I am going to miss it immensely! My professors rock and so does every other faculty member that I have interacted with and gotten to know. My professors know me by name and work with me a TON! They truly have my best interest at hand! Everyone here is so helpful and really helped make pursing my education a lot less stressful. I am also going to miss Student Government so much! Gov is one of the main reasons of why I enjoyed my college experience so much. I met so many people and was able to get involved with everything on campus and got numerous free t-shirts! I have developed many skills that will help me for the rest of my life, I have also made lifelong friendships! The memories that have happened within the walls of the gov room will always be in my heart! And for anyone reading this that is going to Dixie currently, APPLY FOR STUDENT GOVERNMENT! It is the best decision I have ever made and it will be the best one you make as well! Student Government made me feel like I was a part of something bigger and that I was making a difference on this campus, that I left my mark at Dixie. Dixie has made an amazing version of me and I have refined so many skills and have improved in ways I could only imagine! So for that I thank you Dixie! Another big thing I have St. George and Dixie to thank for, are the incredible friends I have met here! I figured out who I wanted to be while I was here and was able to find people who supported this new and improved person. I am very thankful for the people I've met here and they have truly blessed my life! I have nights where I've never laughed harder and I've also had days where when I was going through very hard things and the people I met here were there for me so readily. I could not have asked for a better experience here and I could not have asked for better friends. If any of these wonderful people are reading this, you know who you are and I can't thank you enough for how much you have impacted my life and made it better. The last thing I have to say is a HUGE thank you to my parents. Without them I could have never made it to this amazing school! They are the GREATEST parents anyone could have and without thier support I would not be here in this position of my life. I have no clue where I would be, but I guess it's better to not think about where I would be, just think about where I am now and where I want to be, and to thank the people who helped me get here. So thanks again mom and dad for being so incredible! I don't deserve you but I'm happy that you put up with me and love me regardless. (: Well I suppose I should wrap this up, I just had to express the love I have for this place because my heart felt like it was going to burst! I just want everyone to know that I LOVE DIXIE! And if there is going to be any kind of sand in this girls shoes, might as well have red!
